If you have not already done so, prune your summer-bearing raspberries down to ground level and dispose of all old canes by burning or hot compost. Prune back new canes in the spring. Leave only three or four of the sturdiest canes per foot of row.
Fall-bearing raspberries produce on new growth each year so you can mow or prune all canes after they are dormant. Be careful not to damage the crowns.
